Our Story
Adams Hardwood Floors began in the early 1980’s. Founder, Willie Adams had been working in the flooring business for years. He eventually decided to start his own business and in 1980, along with his wife Shirley, opened the doors of Adams Floor Covering, working out of a small office space in Austin. As the business grew, they decided to open a store in Bastrop in June of 1982. They did all different flooring types including carpet, sheet vinyl and tile. They kept the store for 7 years before moving the office into their home. Over the next couple years, Willie learned more and more about hardwood floors. Refinishing existing original wood floors was proving to be a growing demand in the area and few companies had the tools and knowledge to do it. In 1991, Willie decided to focus on wood floors and Adams Hardwood Floors was born. Willie, Shirley and eventually two of their sons, Brian and Greg, have been running the business ever since. In January of 2021, Willie and Shirley decided to retire, leaving Brian and Greg to continue the business operations. Today, Adams Hardwood Floors is continuing to serve the Central Texas Community, making happy homeowners one floor at a time.
We would like to thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you and our community for 38 wonderful years. We have enjoyed getting to know you and your families and appreciate you trusting us in your homes. As we begin to make the transition into our next adventure of retired life, please know that our sons Brian and Greg will be taking the reins of the business and will continue to take care of you! Meet Us
Brian
Willie and Shirley’s 3rd son, Brian, grew up around the family business. As a young child you could find him helping out fetching tools and holding cords and learning the trade alongside his dad and his uncle. As he got older, Brian took on more responsibilities with the company leading a crew for the past 20 years. Brian has also taken on the task of managing the business’s social media pages as well. Brian resides in Cedar Creek with his wife Jill, and their 2 daughters, Callie and Kacey.
Greg
Like his brother Brian, Greg (the youngest) grew up in the business. Some of his earliest memories are of spending his summer vacations riding to work with his dad and uncle. For the last 15 years Greg has been leading a crew of his own. Greg acquired his business degree from Texas State University, and has been eager to use this knowledge to help with the business side of Adams Hardwood Floors. Greg and his wife Alison live in Buda with their three children, Hunter, Carolyn and Brielle.
Serena
Serena is Willie and Shirley’s 2nd oldest granddaughter. Throughout high school, Serena spent her summers helping out her uncles with the family business. After graduating, it wasn’t long before she too followed in her uncles’ footsteps to carry on the family business. Serena has been full time with the company for the last 4 years and is enjoying gaining experience in the business and perpetuating the company’s mission and values.
